Today we are celebrating our 700th post!! WooHoo!!
(Wow, we have been wordy over the years. :)
In honor of the occasion we are offering up some fat quarter sets to you, our lovely loyal readers.
Without you our blog would just be a whole lot of us talking to ourselves. :)
But life and blogs are way more fun with friends, don't you think?!

So here's what we have:
The first stack is aqua and green. A current favorite color scheme.
Some of the prints are from the DS Quilts line at JoAnn, along with some other great
coordinating pieces I had. Together they'd make a lovely start to a quilt.

The next stack is an assortment of red's.
Renae and I are both working on our own red quilts.
(Mine is this, Renae's is along the lines of this.)

We definitely think that red is a neutral in all aspects of life! And when it comes to quilting, red never goes out of style. So what better way to celebrate with us than starting your own red project.
We will make it easy.
Just leave us a comment telling us what you are currently working on/loving at the moment.
We will pick winners on Monday.
And thank you again for visiting our little blog!
We love you guys!

Making lots of scrappy quilts -- it would be fun to win some new fabrics to add to them.
ReplyDeleteI am working on a few donation quilts and then one for a niece that is on the way! I would love to win some fabric to add to her quilt.

I wish I could say I was currently working on something but honestly, summer has pushed me right out of the sewing room. So I'm working on painting my bedroom and laundry room. And after that I'm going to make a quilt for my bed. I have everything in my sewing room, just need to make it happen. September, you can come now!
ReplyDeleteLove you blog, ladies. Nice to have some sisterly love on another blog. :-)
I'm working on a whole cloth quilt that's going to be my fall tablecloth!! I'm using Violet Craft's Madrona Road in Wild Carrot Tangerine! :)
ReplyDeleteI'm working on a star quilt. Doing it completely by hand and only using fabric with dots. It's really cute.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the 700th post, that's amazing! I'm a novice quilter and love all of the ideas from your blog; it's so inspiring! Right now I'm working on a simple quilt for my first niece - it's been a fun project and am already planning what to do next. :)
ReplyDeleteWorking on a baby quilt for my friend: chevron, gray, white, teal, elephants. It's going to be adorable.
ReplyDeleteWorking on two Amish Buggy blanket quilts for gifts, a baby quilt with sheep, and one scrappy quilt for me (finally a quilt for my bed). Isn't everyone working on multiple projects?
ReplyDeleteCheers on Post #700.
Congrats on your milestone! I'm working on finishing up the borders on my quilt top from last years designer mystery quilt from the fat quarter shop. My sewing time is super limited in the summer, so it has been slow going.
ReplyDeleteWow 700! Congrats! I am currently working on baby gifts for my sister. This will be her first boy and we are all very excited for her.
ReplyDeleteI'm currently working on my daughter's fall wardrobe. I'm using Ottobre Designs magazine and really loving their patterns.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on the 700 post that is very cool. When it comes to project's i'm a little add, I seem to be working on a bunch right now. The one I am absolutely in love with right now is my flip flop quilt that has yellow's and oranges and pinks. It's so much fun and reminds me of summer.
ReplyDeleteI'm making a knit shirt for my niece from some fun fabric I found at goodwill for $.99 for 3 yards!
ReplyDeleteThat is my kind of thrifty deal.
DeleteI love it when I can find stuff like that.
HI! Thanks for the giveaway. I am currently working on the "Streak of Lightening" QAL....in Red, Coal Gray and black and white prints, its awesome!
ReplyDeleteGreat giveaway!
ReplyDeleteI'm finishing the binding on a charity quilt while I'm waiting for my fabrics for the Groove QAL to arrive!
I'm working on a baby quilt for my nephew. Thanks for the chance to win!
ReplyDeleteCONGRATS ON 700+!
ReplyDeleteI'M WORKING ON A BLUE/WHITE BABY CRIB QUILT FOR CHARITY RIGHT NOW+IT IS TURNING OUT SO CUTE! THANKS FOR SHARING A SWELL GIVEAWAY!

I am quilting a Halloween quilt for my daughter, making a baby quilt for a lady I used to work with and making a quilt for myself that I saw on a blog!
ReplyDeleteThose are beautiful. Right now, I am working on a quilt made out of my former husband's shirts that I saved for ten years to make quilts for my kids. I am also waiting on a purple/pink plus quilt to come back from the quilter so I can give it as a gift.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on 700 posts! Wowee!
ReplyDeleteMy current project is a Star Wars quilt for my hubby's boss. He's a total Sci-Fi geek (like me!) and he has made my hubby's work life so much more joyful than it used to be that I decided he deserved a quilt. His wife is a non-geek (like my hubby!) so I'm doing a reversible with the back as something girly that she will hopefully like. :D
Congrats again and thanks for a chance at my favorite material thing in the world, FABRIC!! :D
Two of the projects I am currently working on have aqua, blue and green color schemes. One is a wonky coin quilt and the other is a vintage sheet quilt.
ReplyDeleteI just finished a quilt top for an Uncle's 90th birthday and will take it to the long arm quilter tomorrow. And now I'm starting on a baby quilt for my nephew's baby boy who will be 1 next month. I'm a little late on that one.
ReplyDeleteI'm actually in the process of doing a aqua, navy, grey, and potentially yellow quilt. Would LOVE the aqua fabrics!!!
ReplyDeleteMy gosh, I am actually working on several things! AHHHHH! They are: Christmas Tree wall hangings, Gone with the Wind quilt, Quilt of Honor quilt, Fat Quarter Shops Designer Mystery block of the month quilt...to name a few! I am also starting a red and white quilt for my sister for Christmas. FUN!!!
ReplyDeleteI am super excited to be taking a break from swimwear sewing and starting a new quilt - a birthday gift for a dear friend. It'll be springy/pastels and have some blocks with hand embroidery. I'll embroider her kid's handprints and a few other personal things. The rest will be lots of hourglass blocks in a medallion setting. Machine pieced, but hand embroidered and hand quilted. I have till April to get it done.
ReplyDeleteYour blog has been really inspiring to me. Lots of yummy inspiration for quilts, but I most appreciate the how-to posts on clothing construction and swimwear sewing. I'll look things up in a book, and then read your blog for the simple-to-understand version!
I'd love the aqua pack! I've been trying to use up scraps so my stash is looking pretty weak these days.

I went and checked out your swimsuits on your blog. Good for you for giving it a whirl. I have a couple ideas for myself for swim dress styles that I hope to do early part of next year. Yours looked really nice.
DeleteMy Mill End lately hasn't had much of any good swimsuit fabric...not that I need any more. Just made 2 for my daughter for swim team practice here last night and today.
I am currently working on an all plaid quilt that I started at a retreat last Oct. I want to get it finished before this year's retreat. I am spending today at a work party where we are making quilts for Margaret's Hope Chest, my favorite quilt making charity.
ReplyDeleteYears ago I cross stitched the alphabet in precious moments style. I ended up not using the cloth for my babies. Now I am working on adapting it for my 3 year old daughters winter quilt.
ReplyDeleteI have really enjoyed reading your blog and have picked up some good tips along the way.
ReplyDeleteMy current project, for today, was spending time cutting out a quilt block for my local quilt club. We make one new block each month for 12-months. When the 12-months are completed we have enough blocks to make a nice quilt.
I am also preparing to start on a scrap quilt for my daughter. My hopes of having this quilt finished for winter are now "out the window" but perhaps I will have it finished by spring? :O)
I just finished a 90th birthday quilt using vintage photos printed onto fabric. I'm so pleased with how it turned out. And now I'm starting to play with some hst's that resulted from the trimmings of a wedding quilt I made earlier this summer. Can't hurt to have a baby quilt in the vault when it comes to newlyweds!
ReplyDeleteI just started a new project - it's my variation so is a bed sized version of the cover quilt Appomattox Courthouse on May/June 2009 Fons and Porter's Love of Quilting magazine. It's my first time making anything civil-war-ish (some fabric is not reproduction).
ReplyDeleteHappy 700th post! :-) I found you a couple of years ago when I was trying to get up my nerve to sew swimsuits for my girls (you totally helped with that. (and more!) Now I have people asking ME swimsuit-sewing questions! I give them my standard answer, "use a stretch needle and do a 'swimsuit' search at Creative Chicks at Play" :-)
ReplyDeleteI'm working on a quilt for my 5 year old, and have another quilt that I've been working on, off and on for a year that I'm about ready to get finished up. I have several new knit fabrics washed and waiting to be cut for my girls and I, too.
School starts this week -- so I think pulling out my fabric and starting a new quilt is in order!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on 700 posts. I have certainly enjoyed your wordiness over the years. :)
I'm working on a "What Cancer Can't Do" quilt for my mother-in-law who was recently diagnosed with lung cancer. I just got the fabric panel this week and am waiting on a jelly roll to come so I can begin..sewing machine is already threaded and waiting on the table.
