I think I have a hard time being "random" myself. Too much A-type in me I suppose. Although I do love the wonky blocks and yours look great.
I find myself avoiding traditional fabrics/quilt patterns--but I, too, struggle with being totally free form and random; ends up stressing me out! But good job on yours--well done!
